Jamael Food Group & Jamael Technology Group
Furthering the sustainability and fairness of food systems
about us
Our vision is a world where everyone has access to healthy, sustainably produced and fairly traded food
JAMAEL is a company based in The Netherlands, comprised of a Food Group and a Technology Group.
With the challenges faced globally in the need to feed a growing population while simultaneously reducing our impact on the environment, we believe we need to change the way we produce and consume food. Our mission is to develop, implement and scale up concepts that ensure a healthy and sustainable global food supply network. We believe that employing technology can facilitate this process.
We invest in companies, start-ups and multi-stakeholder initiatives that further this cause.

Our initiatives
Baltussen Konservenfabriek has as its mission to be a frontrunner in sustainability and leading in organic. They aim to be a transparent link in the supply chain that stimulates both suppliers and customers to make more sustainable choices. Becoming this enabling link has been key in developing and implementing their newest sustainability strategy, facilitated by JAMAEL.
Supply chain transparency is required when it comes to enforcing sustainability standards. JAMAEL looks for ways to create this transparency throughout supply chain, and collaboration is one such way. For example, Baltussen Konservenfabriek supplies its customers with canned green beans from the African Vegetables Company in Tanzania, guaranteeing end-to-end insight into all stages of production.
The JAMAEL Welfare Fund supports projects that improve the livelihood of people. Current projects are running in the Netherlands, Tanzania and Brazil. They have a focus on local communities and working through local partnerships and networks in common. Healthy food, sanitation and education directed at children are main themes within the supported projects.
